Children of Heroes is a registered Dutch ANBI that has supported Ukrainian children who lost one or both parents to the war since 2022. Its approach is personal and long-term.
Through the Fund’s Family Case Management Program, a Case Manager guides each new family and steps in during a crisis, while a Family Support Specialist keeps in regular contact as life stabilizes. The Fund’s support continues for years – up to age 18 and into early adulthood.
These are Ukrainian children who lost one or both parents to Russia’s war against Ukraine. Their mothers or fathers were soldiers who fell defending the country, or civilians killed in the fighting. Most now live with a surviving parent or guardian; a smaller number, after losing both parents, live with relatives.
What they share is a heavy loss and a long road ahead. They still go to school, make friends, and picture a future – they just need extra support to reach it. More than 16,200 of these children are cared for by Children of Heroes today, and the number grows as new families reach out every day.

Від фонду «Діти Героїв» сімʼя Найдухів отримала можливість поїхати до табору «Воловець» у Карпатах. Це табір психоемоційної стабілізації для сімей, що постраждали від війни. З перших днів у таборі розпочались позитивні зміни. Вони ходили в гори, малювали, співали, купалися в чанах. Галина каже, що вона вперше після трагедії добре спала. А дівчата, які категорично відмовлялись йти до психолога, після табору самі висловили бажання розпочати роботу з фахівцем!
