With support from Antoshka, Children of Heroes Charity Fund provided a further UAH 226,945 in targeted financial assistance to families under the Fund’s care. This round of support enabled the Fund to respond to the specific needs of families facing difficult circumstances.
One of the families to receive support is Kateryna and her daughter Nastia. Following the start of the full-scale invasion, Kateryna’s husband joined the defence of Ukraine. In March 2026, the family was informed that he was missing.
Due to difficulties in completing the necessary documentation, the family has not yet received the state benefits and support to which they are entitled. Kateryna’s husband had been the family’s main breadwinner, and his disappearance significantly affected their financial situation. Kateryna continues to work but does not have stable employment.
In July, the family faced another crisis. On the night of 5–6 July 2026, their home was destroyed during a Russian attack on Vyshneve. Kateryna and Nastia managed to leave the house but were unable to take their belongings with them. When Kateryna returned the following day, only the walls and the burnt remains of their home were left.
The family was left without a home or essential belongings. Financial assistance helped them cover some of their immediate expenses following the loss of their home and property.
After receiving the assistance, Kateryna wrote:
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Antoshka for the financial assistance, care and support shown to our family at this difficult time, when we were left without a home, our belongings or a sense of security. This assistance will help us feel more secure in the immediate future. My daughter and I are deeply grateful for your support and care, and for the difference you are making to our lives today. We would also like to thank Children of Heroes Charity Fund for responding quickly and for its help and attention.”
Financial assistance for families under the care of Children of Heroes Charity Fund is tailored to each family’s individual circumstances and needs. For Kateryna and Nastia, urgent support was needed after they lost their home and belongings in a Russian attack, while the family continues to live with the uncertainty surrounding the disappearance of their husband and father.
Overall, as part of this round of support from Antoshka, UAH 226,945 was provided to families under the Fund’s care. Kateryna and Nastia’s story is one example of how this partnership enables the Fund to respond quickly to families’ specific needs in times of crisis.
We thank Antoshka for its continued partnership and consistent support for families under the care of Children of Heroes Charity Fund.
