With support from Antoshka, Children of Heroes Charity Fund provided a further UAH 223,635 in targeted financial assistance to families under the Fund’s care. This latest round of funding enabled the Fund to respond to families’ specific individual needs.
One of the families to receive assistance through this support lives in Kyiv. The father of two girls served in the police. Their parents were divorced at the time of his death, but he remained involved in his daughters’ lives and continued to be an important part of their family. He died as a result of blast injuries sustained while carrying out his duties.
Following their father’s death, the girls remained with their mother. The sisters spend a lot of time together, support each other and enjoy drawing, creative activities and active games. The older daughter, Nastia, has diabetes and requires continuous glucose monitoring and insulin therapy.
One of Nastia’s important medical needs was an insulin pump — a device that continuously delivers insulin and helps manage blood glucose levels more effectively. The cost of this equipment represents a significant financial burden for the family.
With support from Antoshka, the Fund was able to provide Nastia with the insulin pump she needed. The device will help her manage her condition in everyday life and reduce the burden associated with ongoing insulin therapy.
Financial assistance for families under the care of Children of Heroes Charity Fund is tailored to their individual needs. This may include treatment and medical examinations, specialist equipment, rehabilitation or other costs that families are unable to cover fully themselves.
Overall, as part of this latest round of support from Antoshka, UAH 223,635 was provided to families under the Fund’s care. Nastia’s story is one example of how this partnership translates into a practical response to an individual child’s needs.
