With support from Antoshka, Children of Heroes Charity Fund provided UAH 174,592.80 in targeted financial assistance to families under the Fund’s care. The funding was allocated according to each family’s individual needs.
One of the families to receive this support lives in Kherson Oblast. Iryna is raising her seven-year-old son, Mykhailyk, who started school this year. He has speech difficulties and works with a speech therapist. The family also includes an older daughter, aged 18, who is in her first year at university.
Iryna’s husband was killed in Kherson as a result of shelling. Iryna is currently not working as she cares for her son and manages the household. The family lives in a small house belonging to Iryna’s parents.
In November 2025, a Russian attack drone fell into the family’s yard. Debris and the blast wave caused significant damage to the house: the roof, windows and doors were damaged, as were the ceilings in some rooms.
Following the attack, Iryna and her son temporarily moved in with a relative. The house required urgent repairs, and the family was unable to cover the costs themselves.
With support from Antoshka, the family received UAH 25,000 towards repairing their home. The funding enabled them to begin the necessary work and purchase some of the materials needed for the repairs.
After receiving the assistance, the family wrote:
“We sincerely thank the donor for providing financial assistance to repair our home, which was damaged when an enemy Shahed drone fell nearby. Thanks to this support, we were able to begin the repair work and gradually restore safe living conditions. At this difficult time during the war, this assistance provides not only practical help but also important moral support that gives us the strength to keep going.”
For Children of Heroes Charity Fund, financial assistance is one of the tools used for crisis response and to support families facing difficult circumstances. In this case, the funding enabled the family to begin urgent repairs to their damaged home.
Overall, with support from Antoshka, UAH 174,592.80 was provided to families under the Fund’s care as part of this round of assistance. Iryna and her son are one example of how this support helps the Fund respond to families’ specific needs.
We thank Antoshka for its partnership and for helping the Fund support families when an urgent response is needed.
