Paul Lunn, a resident of Amsterdam, is running for a cause close to his heart — the Children of Heroes Charity Fund*. Through his JustGiving campaign, Paul is raising funds to support Ukrainian children who have lost one or both parents due to the war.
Paul’s connection to Ukraine is deeply personal. His wife is Ukrainian, and they have been together for more than 15 years. When the full-scale invasion began, her family moved to Amsterdam to live with them. Having visited Ukraine many times, Paul feels a strong bond with the country and its people.
Earlier this year, he and his wife took part in the Run for Children of Heroes charity race in Amsterdam. Inspired by that event, Paul decided to dedicate his participation in this year’s Amsterdam Marathon to the same cause — to help children who have endured unimaginable loss.
The Children of Heroes Charity Fund* currently supports over 14,300 Ukrainian children who have lost their parents to war. Each week, around 80 new children join its care, and the need for support continues to grow.
Paul’s run is a powerful reminder that compassion crosses borders and that every step can change a child’s life.
