Four-year-old Oleksiy was born in Chernihiv in northern Ukraine. From the very first days of the war, his city experienced constant enemy shelling. Oleksiy and his family lived in the basement of their home without electricity or water. His father was deployed to fight the Russian enemy early on during the war, though his life was cut short due to an enemy air strike.
Oleksiy and his mother currently live abroad, having managed to cross the border to safety, though they wish to return home as soon as possible following the end of the war. With the Fund’s support, they have been provided with priority financial assistance, psychological support, winter shoes and fall clothing.
